01 Who we are

The Stables is a 9-room guesthouse in Midigama, Sri Lanka, sitting directly opposite Rams, one of the best reef breaks on the island. We also run Stable Gains, a free outdoor calisthenics gym in the garden, open to guests and the local community.

We're on the main road, so it's not a silent retreat, but the vibe is genuinely relaxed and unhurried. Our guests are surfers, digital nomads, and people who want to be close to a good wave without staying somewhere that's lost its soul. We have character, and we're proud of it.

02 Our vibe

Honest.
Grounded.
Surf-first.

Our brand is understated and surf-grounded. We're not trying to be something we're not, and the content we love reflects that. If your feed is into surf, movement, coastal living or independent travel, there's a good chance we'll get along well.

A few things that haven't worked for us in the past. Please keep these in mind:

  • ✕Swimwear or bikini content used as the primary subject. It's just not who we are.
  • ✕Reels or videos where The Stables gets a two-second mention alongside other businesses.
  • ✕Off-property shoots (train tracks, random beaches, roadside) where we get tagged as if we're involved.
  • ✕Content that features other properties or competitors in the same post as The Stables.

03 What a good collaboration looks like

A real stay,
real content.

We offer a genuine stay in exchange for genuine content: dedicated posts about The Stables or Stable Gains. The rooms, the gym, the reef, the food, the experience. We'd love your content to stand on its own, not function as a quick stop between other destinations on the same trip.

Since we post very little ourselves, your content often ends up representing us on our own channels, which means real reach and a longer shelf life for your work too. We just ask that you approach it with that in mind.

04 Your proposal

Tell us what
you're thinking first.

Before we confirm anything, we'd love to see a short content proposal from you. Nothing elaborate, just a few paragraphs covering:

  • —What you'd like to shoot, and where on the property.
  • —The angle or story you're planning to tell.
  • —A rough breakdown of content types: Reel, feed posts, Stories.
  • —Anything you'd need from us: access times, props, breakfast, etc.

Your approved proposal becomes the reference point for the collaboration. It keeps things clear for both sides, and means we're fully aligned before you arrive.

05 Deliverables

What we're
hoping to see.

All content should be dedicated to The Stables or Stable Gains: no shared posts, no brief mentions. Extended stays come with proportionally more content, agreed at proposal stage.

Stories should go up while you're still on property; great for in-the-moment engagement. Reels and feed posts take proper editing time, so we're happy for those to land within 14 days of checkout.

Applies to every tier: the ocean view suite must appear in your content, and all remaining content goes live within 14 days of checkout.

A few content ground rules

  • —Every deliverable should feature The Stables or Stable Gains as its primary subject.
  • —Content should be consistent with your pre-approved proposal.
  • —Please tag @thestables.srilanka in all posts and Stories.
  • —By agreeing to this collaboration, you grant The Stables full usage rights to all delivered content (organic reposting and paid advertising) at no additional fee, with no expiry. We'll always credit you.
  • —Free breakfast is included if at least one deliverable features it. If it doesn't appear in your content, it's not part of the deal.

06 What you get

The standard 2-night deal includes:

  • —Ocean view suite. Our best room category, and it must feature in your content.
  • —Complimentary breakfast daily, if featured in at least one deliverable.
  • —Full access to Stable Gains, our outdoor garden gym.
  • —Rams reef break directly across the road.

We're in Midigama: small, coastal, and genuinely great for surfing. If you're into the quieter end of the south coast over the Ahangama/Weligama party scene, you'll feel right at home.

07 The deposit

A card hold,
just to keep
things honest.

Pre-authorisationLKR 48,000

We take a pre-authorisation of LKR 48,000 at check-in, equivalent to the full 2-night rate. It's not a charge and won't sit on your card for long. It's released as soon as your content is delivered.

We introduced this because, honestly, not everyone has followed through in the past. It's not about distrust; it's just a fair structure for both sides.

For stays longer than 2 nights, the hold scales at LKR 24,000 per night and is confirmed in writing at agreement stage.

08 Who we work with

A few
basics.

  • —Instagram only. We're not running TikTok or YouTube deals at the moment.
  • —Engagement rate of 2.5% or above. A genuinely engaged smaller audience matters more to us than raw follower numbers.
  • —Content with some connection to surf, movement, coastal travel, or independent travel. If your feed is entirely fashion or nightlife, we're probably not the right fit, but if there's overlap, let's talk.
  • —Willingness to put together a short content proposal before anything is confirmed.

If the structure above doesn't quite fit what you do, that's okay; we're open to it. What we're not interested in is a vague "interested in a collab?" with nothing behind it.
